As my favourite actress of all time Audrey Hepburn said: “Nothing is impossible, the word itself says ‘I’m possible’!”
So for the last 3 years I have been trying to prove to myself I can do more, especially within my career path. Changing the direction of my career and being happy and fulfilled with my action was the best decision I could ever make.
It wasn’t easy of course, being a full time mom has its own privileges but mostly its own responsibilities that I had to face. And although I love my daughter so much and every day showed me how lucky I am, I knew I was missing out on being a part of something else. So one day I thought: „Okay Diana, let’s do something about it! Use your imagination, use your energy and passion! Use all that so one day you could tell your daughter – you were my inspiration.”
I looked back to all the people I’ve worked with over the years. What they told me, what learned from them and by gathering all that information I’ve put that into practice. With no luck in job hunting for the last 1.5 years, struggling to be even invited for an interview I decided to be the architect of my own fortune. That’s how SlingWise came in to my career life. The quick decision of taking a course and becoming a babywearing advisor added enormous excitement and wings into my life again. I have finally found a way to use my knowledge, mother’s experience and purpose to move on and be active again, to create my own business and be independent.
I believe that every little change in a person’s life makes the world a better place and what’s more important, makes people believe they’re good at what they do and by that I mean they’re good at being a parent.
I believe that my work experience gained thus far has helped me adapt to life as a business mom and prepared me to work hard but also to remember what’s most important in my life – my family and to choose people who lift me up.
As Michelle Obama said (another of my inspirations): „Success isn’t about how much money you make. It’s about the difference you make in people’s lives”. I believe I do that, with small steps, probably in a tiny aspect of parent’s lives, but that aspect is a life saver for them.
And if I may quote Michelle Obama again: “Success is only meaningful and enjoyable if it feels like your own”.
